Images of female nudes procured from pornographic website were cropped off of their identities in an attempt to accentuate their luscious & erotic forms. While found imagery of crashing sea waves lightly obscure each suggestive pose.
The sea waves represent the passing of time and the act of cleansing. By cleansing, the original context of the images is liberated from its pornographic origins. While the flow of time, is a reminder to the continuing influence of the male gaze. By reenacting and representing these images, the work ponders on the social and patriarchal systems that continues to drive the fetish of the female form.
